The middle school years are a time of transition — moving from being led and told what and how to learn, to learning how they learn. It’s a season of becoming an independent, responsible member of the Christian community. This is a time of ownership, and the mistakes that happen along the way help protect students from making bigger mistakes in high school and beyond.

A Christian middle school student is developing an understanding of who the Lord wants them to be. These are important years — a time to build faith alongside education, in a way that honors the Lord’s plan for their life.

Academically, we continue to strengthen foundations and prepare students for high school, college, and career. Students who are ready advance to a higher honors level, and we look at the whole student — not just grades and test scores. We’ve often found that a student with the desire to be in honors-level classes can succeed and grow into a strong leader in the classroom. We want every student who has the desire to work to their highest academic ability to have that opportunity — and the same holds true for a student who has struggled and needs additional help. Every student should have the tools they need to succeed. Placement is based on where each student is, through ongoing conversations with parents about their goals.
